How to Scan Documents Using Canon iR5000

Download the necessary proprietary image viewer

Open the compressed archive and install the IE viewer and only use Internet Explorer. Follow the prompts and after installation completes you will need to restart the PC.

• If you have a single-sided sheet place it on the glass. If you have multiple sheets or double-sided sheets place them on the document feeder
• Press the Mailbox button (hardware button) u
• Select a mailbox displayed on the LCD Panel (software or panel button)v
  • If you have a password protected mailbox you will be prompted for your predefined password.
  • If you have double-sided sheets, select double sided (software or panel button)v
  • Press Scan (software or panel button)v
  • Press the Start button (hardware button) w

Scans will be saved to your mailbox which is accessible through the web only

Click on the link Image Runner Mailboxes

Or enter http://137.99.101.216/ in Internet Explorer

And click on the Mail Box button.

Click on your mailbox

Click on the document you just scanned, Use the date and the time stamp if you have multiple scans. Scans will be purged after 3 days.

Click on the document

Click OK to display the scanned file

Trust the ActiveX Control Module you installed earlier by right clicking in the gray bar and selecting "Run ActiveX Control"

Click the "Run" button

The document will display in the browser with an image toolbar

Saving the file as a TIFF is recommended. It will retain multipage formatting and still be accessible by others.

NOTE: If Internet Explorer does not display the document, please reinstall the viewer.
